Role Description:

This is a full-time position located in Los Angeles, CA, United States.

As a Pattern Cutter/Maker, you will play a crucial role in bringing our luxury menswear designs to life. Working within our Fashion division, you will be responsible for creating precise and accurate patterns that form the foundation for our exceptional garments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the craftsmanship and attention to detail that define the organization.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Interpret and translate design sketches into precise and accurate patterns for garments

• Collaborate with designers to ensure patterns align with creative visions and aesthetic requirements

• Create prototypes and samples based on developed patterns for design evaluation and fitting sessions

• Work closely with the design and production teams to achieve optimal garment fit, considering style, comfort, and functionality

• Conduct fittings and collaborate on pattern adjustments for different sizes and styles

• Analyze and understand the characteristics of various fabrics and materials, ensuring patterns are tailored to specific materials and production methods

• Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless transition from pattern development to final garment production

• Provide technical guidance and support to production staff on pattern-related issues

• Collaborate with the production and sourcing teams to analyze and optimize patterns for cost-effective production without compromising quality

• Maintain detailed and organized documentation of patterns, including version control and detailed notes on adjustments made

• Ensure that pattern libraries are kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant teams

• Work closely with fabric suppliers to understand the characteristics of new materials and collaborate on pattern adjustments to accommodate unique properties

• Collaborate with external manufacturers to ensure seamless pattern integration into the production process

• Coordinate with fit models for garment fittings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve the desired fit and style

• Ensure that garments comply with quality standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in fashion design, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Pattern Cutter/Maker, preferably in the menswear fashion industry

• Ability to use a sewing machine 

• Proficient in pattern making software and traditional pattern cutting techniques

• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and sewing techniques

• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for precision and accuracy

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with design and production teams

• Attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate problems and find solutions proactively

• Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
